How is your ski gear keeping?
A new season can mean that you finally allow yourself to lay down your old robes and treat yourself to some comfier, warmer and more protective gear. The big questions therefore are - what do you get and where do you look?
You can easily spend far too much on every single piece of ski equipment from thermals to jackets, to helmets, to boots and skis. I myself was in this predicament last year and if you put the time and effort in you can get a lot more for your buck than you would think.
If you are in the market for adding a brand new piece of equipment to your quiver then the top tip is to read reviews first so that you can find something that suits your style, ability and finances.

- Skiers - Freeskier
- Snowboarders - Whitelines
Both are online platforms where everything snow related is discussed; where industry leading articles are written and where the best videos and pictures from top athletes are shown. If you are passionate about either snow sport then I implore you to 'favourite' these sites and follow them on facebook... you won't be dissappointed and I can promise you hours of entertainment.

On the snow | OnBoard |
In the snow | Transworld |
You will (I'm sure) note that the prices quoted on their ‘gear’ sections are rather more than a normal budget is willing to stretch. For this reason and because Christmas is around the corner we give you a list of some cheaper options to consider.
Twobarefeet - The perfect place for all ski clothing. Most items are from previous seasons and therefore at clearance sale prices
Sportpursuit - Flash sales for all things sports and when the ski section comes out we always take a peek. Up to 70% off on some items
Surfdome - A family favourite and a place where you can get everything for a reasonable price. Varied selection of snowboard and ski bags
Surfanic - Good selection for the up and coming ski and snowboard fashionista at reasonable prices
TKMaxx - Not to be underestimated! You can find some amazing bargains ski and snowboard related in this place both online and in shops
Ski Plus - A vast site with everything you could possibly desire. Mid to high range
Ski Bartlett - Great site for new and used items, especially boots and skis
Ellis Bringham - Always with up to date gear and a vast range of equipment covering all the bases but prepare for high prices
Dare2B - Perfect for newbies and children
Eko Sport - A good range of everything with package offers such as skis + bindings
Sports Direct - Not the most adventurous site with regards to products but there are a few bargains to be had nonetheless such as thermals and gloves
Snow and Rock - Great products and very reliable. They do everything under the sun and have a well renowned boot fitting service but prices are in the higher range
Ski Mania - All bases covered here but be prepared to hunt out the good items
Good luck to all and remember... Finding the perfect outfit, goggles, boots etc takes time so don't rush into anything and make sure you read what is included in the item. For example for jackets and Salopettes you ALWAYS want vents and for goggles look out for 'anti fog' lenses
Enjoy the hunt :-)
